Welcome to my new blog, devoted entirely to my novel The Seven Noble Knights of Lara. It will soon have pages with great pictures and features about the inspiration for the book. Follow this blog or subscribe via email so you don't miss out on any of the great stuff!
Fittingly, the first post is an excerpt for the Backward in Time Blog Hop that continues the bullfighting theme on my other blog this week. It also continues on just after the excerpt I offered for the final Six Sentence Sunday. The ten sentences come from what is now Chapter III, a.k.a. the wedding chapter.

A man on the opposite balcony lowered a
red mantle and waved it vigorously. The bull darted across the plaza, the man
pulled the mantle away, and, in the absence of the original target, the beast
rammed its horns into the nearest door.
“Oh, my door!” exclaimed the
shopkeeper, directly above.
The bull wrenched out of the door and
turned this way and that until someone else on the opposite side waved a grey
cape. This time, the citizens were ready, throwing homemade spears, lances,
arrows, and even rotten vegetables at the animal. One lance’s aim was true, and
stuck straight out from the colossal muscle over the bull’s neck. The animal
stood still, heaving and eyeing the crowd above as best it could under the
weakened muscle while objects continued to strike it from all sides. Doña
Lambra watched blood run from the wound all the way down to the hard-packed
earth street and held her hands over her mouth, forgetting to breathe.
A cabbage knocked the lance loose and fell to the earth with a dull thud. The bull snorted and lowed a long, mournful
note that echoed eerily off the wooden fronts of the buildings.
